General information The new high rate wireless LAN solution is based on the IEEE 802.11b(1) standard for high-speed 11 Mbps Ethernet-based wireless LANs. The two 802.11b-based products are a PC Card and Access Point. The high rate wireless LAN products enable mobile access to e-mail, the Internet, and other critical information.
The 802.11b Access Point (AP) acts as a bridge between your wireless and wired Ethernet networks. Networks can be configured with one AP for small workgroups or with multiple APs to support many users or physical locations. The PC Card enables ThinkPads(R) or third-party mobile PCs for wireless 1 LAN connectivity.
The high rate wireless LAN solutions enable the next generation of wireless connectivity. Based on the IEEE 802.11b standard, the Access Point and PC Card feature: - Up to 11 Mbps data rate with fallback to 5.5, 2, and 1 Mbps
- 2.4 GHz direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS)
- Compatible with 802.11 DSSS 2 Mbps solutions
- Ethernet 10BaseT wire LAN compatibility
- Support for Wired Equivalent Privacy data encryption
- Roaming support
Warranty - 3 year limited customer carry-in exchange
