The 8Xmax Black Internal IDE DVD-ROM Drive is a drive-only offering, providing read-only function for data DVD media with capacities from 4.7GB up to 17GB. Its 8Xmax speed enhances DVD data entry productivity for large files, graphics, images and video, available only on DVD media. The black color of the drive is designed to blend with IntelliStation and Netfinity systems.

The 40X-17X CD-ROM function of the 8Xmax DVD-ROM Drive adds an optical solution that is ready to handle today's mainstream CD-ROM applications and new applications of DVD-ROM technology.

To enable MPEG-2 video playback, the PCI MPEG-2 Video Decoder Card (33L5009) must be acquired and installed with the 8Xmax Black Internal IDE DVD-ROM Drive.
