Turn off the computer, or enter hibernation mode. Then disconnect the AC adapter and all cables from the computer.
Note: If you are using a PC Card, the computer may not be able to enter hibernation mode. If this happens, turn off the computer.
Close the computer display, and turn the computer over.
There are two battery latches. First unlock the one above the battery by sliding it to the left (1). Then unlock the one to the left of the battery by sliding it to the left (2). Finally, holding the second latch in the unlocked position, remove the battery (3).
Note: Some models have only one battery latch, which is to the left of the battery.
Install a fully charged battery.
Slide the battery latches to the locked position.
Turn the computer over again. Connect the AC adapter and the cables to the computer.
