Locations on the front of the machine:

• These buttons:
  • ThinkPad access
  • Audio down
  • Audio up
  • Audio mute
• These LEDs:
  • Disk activity
  • Num lock
  • Caps lock
  • Scroll lock
  • Power-on
• The power button that turns the machine on and off. To use the reset function you would push and hold the button for five seconds. NOTE: This function does not work when the system is in suspension.
• The microphone
• The suspend/resume button
• The battery LED
• The suspend LED

NOTE: The TrackPoint has the push to select feature.

Locations on the right side of the machine:

• Hard disk drive
• Fan vent
• Powered USB connector

Locations on the back of the ThinkPad:

• The security keyhole
• The I/O ports:
  • Power
  • A powered USB connector
  • The video connector
  • The Line-out
  • An RJ45
  • An RJ11

Models are available with Ethernet only, modem only, or Ethernet/modem combination available on Mini PCI cards.

Locations on the left side of the ThinkPad:

• The headphone jack
• The microphone jack
• A Type II compact flash card slot that can contain either an optional microdrive or a card that stores data from digital cameras
• A PCMCIA card slot
• A bezel that covers the IEEE Firewire connector that is available in select geographies.
