Processor removal - NetVista 6290
  1. Turn off the computer and peripheral devices and disconnect all external cables and power cords; then, remove the cover. See Cover removal.
  2. Remove the CD and diskette drive tray. See Accessing system board components.
  3. Remove the center beam. See Center beam removal.
  4. Unscrew the fansink from the system board and carefully lift it off. The processor will come with it, attached to the bottom by thermal grease.

  5. To remove the fansink from the processor, twist the fansink to break the seal formed by the thermal grease and remove.
    Note: If the thermal grease seal cannot be broken, you may want to start up the system to heat the processor and loosen the thermal grease.
