There are two levels of CRUs: Tier 1 and Tier 2. Tier 1 CRUs are identified T1. Tier 2 CRUs are identified by T2. The letter N in the CRU columns means not a CRU.

Tier 1 CRUs are defined as those CRUs that meet the following criteria:

  1. No tools required for removal or replacement. Exception: Coin, thumb screws are acceptable.
  2. Minimal technical expertise required.
  3. Minimal Problem Determination is required (less than 5 minutes).

Tier 2 CRUs are defined as those CRUs that meet the following criteria:

  1. Some screw/fastener removals.
  2. Some technical experience required.
  3. Helpcenter assistance may be used.
  4. Problem Determination can be done by customers or with Helpcenter assistance.
