Hardware compatibility

The ThinkPad 20GB and 40GB Hard Drive Upgrades supports the following systems:

(1) Supported in either the UltraBase X2 or the Portable Drive Bay 2000 using the ThinkPad 2nd Hard Drive Adapter for Ultrabay 2000.
(2) Supported in the Ultrabay using the ThinkPad 2nd Hard Drive Adapter for Ultrabay 2000 (08K6068).

The 20GB and 40GB Hard Drive option is supported on other currently marketed ThinkPads with the Portable Drive Bay 2000 (19K4480) and the ThinkPad 2nd Hard Drive Adapter for Ultrabay 2000 (08K6068). The 20GB and 40GB Hard Drive option is also supported in the ThinkPad Dock (machine type 2631) with the ThinkPad 2nd Hard Drive Adapter for Ultrabay 2000 (08K6068).

Note: The 20GB and 40GB Hard Drive option is only supported on ThinkPad systems.

The ThinkPad 60GB(5400rpm) Hard Drive Upgrades supports the following systems:

(1) Not supported as an upgrade to the primary system hard drive on the 2655, X or R Series.
(2) Supported in either the UltraBase X2 or the Portable Drive Bay 2000 using the ThinkPad 2nd Hard Drive Adapter for Ultrabay 2000.
(3) Supported in the Ultrabay using the ThinkPad 2nd Hard Drive Adapter for Ultrabay 2000 (08K6068).

The High Speed 60GB Hard Drive option is supported on other currently marketed ThinkPad systems with the Portable Drive Bay 2000 (19K4480) and the ThinkPad 2nd Hard Drive Adapter for Ultrabay 2000 (08K6068).
