• If the BIOS is not updated to the version 1.18 (6FET48WW) or later, you have to update the display driver first before BIOS update. Or you will be asked for an appropriate driver for a newly found hardware device and the display may be VGA (640x480) mode. In VGA mode, your icon arragement on the desktop will be messed up.

• This software requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. This version installs it if it is not installed into your system.

Notes:

• If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.
• Before update, uninstallation of current driver is recommeded. Refer to the Uninstallation Instructions section.

This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.

[Downloading file]

1. Click once on the underlined file name. Once this is done, some pop-up windows will appear.
2. Follow the instructions on the screen.
3. In the window to choose Run or Save, click the Save button.
4. Choose the folder you would like to download the file to and click the Save button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully.

[Extracting file]

5. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
6. Locate the directory where the file was downloaded.
7. Locate the file that was downloaded and double-click it.
8. Follow the instructions on the screen.
9. In the "Select Destination Location" window, click Next. If you would like to select a different folder, click Browse.
10. In the "Ready to Install" window, click Install. All the necessary files will be extracted to the folder selected in the step 9.

[Installing files]

11. Make sure the checkbox next to "Install ..... now" is checked and click Finish.
12. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation and restart the computer.

Finally delete the file saved in Step 4.

Note: This is intended for system administrators only.

1. Refer to the "Manual Install" section, and download and extract the file.
2. In the step 11 of the "Installing files" section, uncheck the checkbox next to "Install ..... now", and then click Finish to cancel installation.
3. At the command line, execute setup.exe with the /K option.
   Example: [Path where the files were extracted]\setup /K

1. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
2. Open Control Panel.
3. Click or Double-click on Add or Remove Programs.
4. Select ATI - Software Uninstall Utility and click on Change/Remove button.
5. Click OK button to continue to uninstall.
6. Click Yes button to restart Windows.

This is for system administrators' use only.

1. Make sure path to driver package using now.
2. At the command line, execute SETUP.EXE with the -uui option.
   Example: [Path where the files were extracted]\SETUP -uui

1. Right-click anywhere on an open area of the Windows desktop, and select ATI Catalyst(R) Control Center.
2. If the ATI Catalyst Control Center is opened for the first time, a window will open asking to choose between Basic or Advanced. Select Advanced and click Next. "Catalyst Control Center Notification" window will open.
3. Click Yes. "Catalyst Control Center Advanced" window will open.
4. In the "Graphics Settings" pane, select Information Center then select Graphics Software. In the "Graphics Software" pane, the "Driver Packaging Version" is displayed.

• Version 8.771-100825a-105152C-Lenovo When this driver is uninstalled, TVSU (ThinkVantage System Update) will not be able to install this version of the driver again. In that case, perform Manual Install.
