Additional information

Note:
If you have any version 8.x of the Intel wireless driver installed, it is important to perfom an uninstall of that driver prior to upgrading to this latest version. To uninstall:

  1. Go to Add Remove Programs in Control Panel, and uninstall any entries you see of the following:
    • Intel wireless PROSet drivers
    • Intel Sebring wireless application
  2. Once the uninstall is complete, procede with the installation of the latest driver package, version 9.0.4.8.

Note:
Systems with the Intel 2200 or Intel 2915 wireless adapter may hang when the power is disconnected. In some rare cases, when an Intel 2200 or 2915 wireless adapter is updated to the version 9.0.1.21, the system may freeze when the power is disconnected from the system. To work-around this issue you will need to change your graphics properties.

  1. Right-click the desktop.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. Click the Settings tab.
  4. Click the Advanced button.
  5. Click Intel Extreme Graphics 2 for Mobile.
  6. Click the Graphic Options button.
  7. Click the Power Scheme Settings button.
  8. Uncheck the box for the "Intel Dual-Frequency Graphics Technology".
  9. Click Apply.
  10. Click OK.

Note: These instructions do not apply to the ThinkPad X41 Tablet.
