Downloading the update
  1. Click the approproate file link to download the file from the Web page.
  2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file, be sure to select a path that does not have a space in its name.
Extracting the update

Installing this update involves creating a BIOS flash diskette and running the flash program from the diskette. Before you begin, have two blank 1.44 MB diskettes ready.

  1. Click Start, select Find or Search, then click Files and Folders.
  2. Insert a blank 1.44MB floppy diskette into the diskette drive.
  3. Type nwjt53a.exe in the search field, then click Find Now. This will locate the file you just downloaded.
  4. Double-click the nwjt53a.exe icon.
  5. Follow the onscreen prompts. The necessary files will be extracted to the diskette.
  6. Label the diskette "Flash BIOS update diskette".
Installing the update
  1. Close all open applications.
  2. Insert the diskette labelled "Flash BIOS update diskette" into drive A:, and shut down and restart the computer to start the BIOS flash program.
  3. Follow the onscreen prompts to update the BIOS. The update may take up to 2 minutes. Do not power off or restart the system during this procedure!
  4. Wait until you see a message stating that the update has completed successfully.
  5. Remove the diskette from the diskette drive.
  6. Press Enter.

Attention: Do not under any circumstance power off or restart the system during the Flash update procedure. Doing so will critically damage your system.

Obtain instructions for extracting a diskette image or if you are extracting this image under Microsoft Windows NT, 2000, or XP
