ThinkPad Presentation Director is a display configuration utility for your ThinkPad computer that enables you to create, manage, and use presentation and display schemes. You can access these schemes through an on-screen display menu that is shown when you press the Fn + F7 key combination on your keyboard (Fn+F7 on-screen function).
Supported Operating Systems: - Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, Professional - Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 - Microsoft Windows 2000
Note: - If this package has been installed, updating (overwrite-installing) this package will fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted below.
If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.
Manual Install
This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.
[Downloading file]
Click once on the underlined file name. Once this is done, some pop-up windows will appear.
In this pop-up window, choose (using the left mouse button) the directory you would like to download the file to and click the Save button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete without your assistance.
Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully.
After being downloaded, the file will need to be extracted.
[Extracting file]
Locate the directory where the file was downloaded.
Locate the file that was just downloaded and double click it using the left mouse button.
The file will begin to extract in the directory where the downloaded file is located.
[Installing files]
Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
Open an Explorer and locate the directory where the files were extracted.
Double-click SETUP file.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
Restart the computer.
Unattended install
Note: This is for system administrators' use only.
Refer to the "Manual Install" section, and download and expand the files.
At the command line, execute SETUP.EXE with the -S -SMS options. Example: [Program Path]\SETUP.EXE -S -SMS
Determining which version is installed
Start Presentation Director.
Click New Scheme... button on "Manage Presentation Director Settings" screen to display Presentation Director Wizard first page.
You will see the version information on the screen.
