How to check WIFI signal strength

SOLUTION:

How to determine WIFI signal strength in Windows XP

1. Click "Start" button --> "Control Panel" --> "Network and Internet Connections" --> "Network Connection". Right-click "Wireless Network Connection" and select "Properties" to open "Wireless Network Connection Properties" window.

2. Click "Wireless Network" tab, check the box of "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings" and then click "View Wireless Networks". Please see Fig.1:

2. Wireless network would automatically search for the current wireless signals. If wireless signals exist, they would be listed and arranged according to signal quality. The signal bar number represents the signal quality meter, the more bars that are illuminated, the stronger the signal strength. The signal quality scale is respectively: Excellent, Very good, Good, Low and very low.

3. If the wireless network is already connected to, you could double-click "Wireless Network Connection" icon to get the WIFI signal strength.

How to determine WIFI signal strength in Windows Vista

1. Click network icon in the notification area in lower right corner of your screen, and click "Connect to network". The wireless network would automatically search for available wireless signals. If wireless signals exist, they would be listed and arranged according to signal quality. The signal bar number represents the signal quality meter, the more bars that are illuminated, the stronger the signal strength. The signal quality scale is respectively: Excellent, Very good, Good, Low and very low.

If the wireless network is already connected to, you could wireless network icon, click "Network and Sharing Center" and then click "View status" to check the wireless network signal strength.

How to determine WIFI signal strength in Windows 7

1. Click wireless network icon in the notification area in lower right corner of your screen, the wireless network would automatically search for available wireless signals. If wireless signals exist, they would be listed and arranged according to signal quality. The signal bar number represents the signal quality meter, the more bars that are illuminated, the stronger the signal strength. The signal quality scale is respectively: Excellent, Very good, Good, Low and very low.

How to determine WIFI signal strength in Intel PROSet

1. When using Intel PROSet (a wireless network card management software) to configure wireless network, you could click "Intel PROSet" icon in the notification area in lower right corner of your screen and then wireless network connection would automatically search for available wireless signals.

2. If wireless signals exist, they would be listed and arranged. The signal bar number represents the signal quality meter, the more bars that are illuminated, the stronger the signal strength.

3. Click a wireless network, you will see it detailed wireless strength.

How to determine WIFI signal strength through Broadcom Wireless Utility

1. When using Intel Broadcom Wireless Utility to configure wireless network, you could double-click "Intel PROSet" icon in the notification area in lower right corner of your screen and then wireless network connection would automatically search for available wireless signals.

2. If wireless signals exist, they would be showed and arranged. The colored signal bar length represents the signal quality meter, the longer the signal bar, the stronger the signal strength.

3. Click a wireless network, you could see its detailed wireless signal.
