Some FRU System Boards "System Brand ID" may show "LENOVO" as below.

Before replacing the original System Board with FRU stock, the original system board may have shown a specific Brand ID such as "ThinkCentre M91" or "ThinkCentre M91p".

Press F1 key to enter LENOVO BIOS Setup Utility -> Main.

This is normal behavior since some System Board FRUs may be common for multiple Brand IDs.

The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

• ThinkCentre M91, M91p

Do not replace any hardware for this issue.

Step 1. Download the BIOS package through the Lenovo support site.

Flash BIOS update - ThinkCentre M81, M91, M91p / ThinkStation E30
USB Drive UEFI BIOS Flash Package ( All operating systems listed )

Step 2. Unzip the BIOS package to a DOS bootable USB key.
Use the following parameter to write a System Brand ID with <"String"> you specified:

- AMIDEDOS.EXE /SV <"String">

For example,

- AMIDEDOS.EXE /SV "ThinkCentre M91p"
- AMIDEDOS.EXE /SV "ThinkCentre M91"

Step 3. Perform usual Flash BIOS update operation using normal Flash BIOS update packages.
You may need to update the Machine Serial, in addition the Machine Type/Model.

If you do not have DOS bootable USB Memory key, you can perform the update to the System Brand ID using the following steps:

- Power on system > Press F12 key to invoke Startup Device Menu > Insert Flash BIOS update CD then boot CD > Press Ctrl-C to break > Type, AMIDEDOS.EXE /SV <"String">.
