This package installs an updated version of the WinDVD 10 software that comes preinstalled in your Lenovo system. This package also allows preinstalled WinDVD 8 SD users to update to WinDVD 10 SD.
This update requires approximately 138MB of space on your hard disk.
WinDVD 10 is only provided for Lenovo systems that have a previous Lenovo version of WinDVD 10 or WinDVD 8.

Downloading the update
Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.
When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file.
System preparation
Remove any versions WinDVD except Lenovo supplied WinDVD 8 SD or WindVD 10 SD
Ensure that a Lenovo version of WinDVD 8.xx SD or WinDVD 10.xx SD is installed or that you have the installation files from a Lenovo version of WinDVD 8.xx SD or WinDVD 10.xx SD
Turn on all optical drives that may be powered down
Installing the update
[Windows 7 and Windows Vista]
Click Start, then click Start Search.
Type windvd1006392u-a.exe in the search field, then click Search Everywhere. This will locate the file you just downloaded.
Double-click the windvd1006392u-a.exe file icon. You may see a dialog stating "A program needs your permission to continue". If you see this dialog, click Continue.
Normally the instalaltion will not require any interaction from the user and will complete shortly.
[Windows XP]
Click Start, click Search, then click All files and folders.
Type windvd1006392u-a.exe in the search field, then click Search. This will locate the file you just downloaded.
Double-click the windvd1006392u-a.exe icon.
Follow all onscreen prompts and reboot your system when done.
If no valid previous version of WinDVD is found, you will be prompted to supply the location of your Lenovo WinDVD 8 or 10 installation kit. Normally these files are located in C:\swtools\apps\dvdplay in Lenovo preloads. If you have moved the installation files or have them on an Accessory Kit CD, they will not be found automatically. When prompted, navigate to the folder that contains 'Corel WinDVD.msi' or 'WinDVD.msi' and select that file.
The unpacked files will be left behind in the directory c:\swtools\apps\windvd10.0.6.238u-a. You can run setup.exe from that directory to re-install the package.
Silent Installation
This package does not support silent installation.
Licensing and Enterprise users
WinDVD 10 from this package is licensed to upgrade WinDVD 8 and 10 users that have Lenovo systems and WinDVD 8 or 10 licenses from Lenovo. Certain legacy IBM/Lenovo systems that came with WinDVD 8 are licensed and will be recognized by the entitlement package as licensed. Non-Lenovo systems and Lenovo systems with non-Lenovo versions of WinDVD are not licensed for this package.
Not all Lenovo systems have a WinDVD license.
This package comes with a grant of rights for network distribution and imaging to applicable Lenovo PCs.
Enterprise users should contact Lenovo Technical Sales Support for an equivalent package that supports silent installation and does not require a previous version of the software.
WinDVD SD is not license compatible with WinDVD BD.
