This utility updates the Intel(R) Management Engine's firmware of the local machine.

This package is for use with systems that are AMT capable.

1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.
2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file.

This update applies to the following Lenovo systems:

This update support for 512-bit keys in RADIUS certificates.

1. If you updated the AMT Firmware, you can NOT downgrade to the previous version.
2. Make sure the Management Engine Interface Driver is installed on the system when Windows tool is used.
3. During the update process, do NOT allow your system to power off.
4. The Windows tool supports Windows XP SP3, PE, Vista and Windows 7. The DOS tool supports MS-DOS 6.22, Windows 98 DOS, DRMK DOS Version 8.00, FreeDOS Version 1.1.32a, PC-DOS Version 7.01.

1. Download the update tool fw7.1.40.1161.exe from the support website.
2. Run fw7.1.40.1161.exe in Windows. In Vista/Windows 7, if the "User Account Control" window appears, please select "Allow".  The update will take approximately 3-4 minute to complete.
3. After the firmware update, a host restart is needed.

1. In DOS environment, run "DOSUpd.bat " in the directory  of "DOS" Utility directory .
2. After the firmware update, a host restart is needed.

1. Boot the system, enter BIOS Setup (F1), and verify the following information on the Advanced -> Intel(R) AMT screen:
   ME Firmware Version  :    7.1.40.1161
2. If the above item match the AMT screen, the update was successful.
