This BIOS VPD update package enables you to update the server BIOS VPD (Serial Number and Machine Type and Mode) and BIOS.

• ThinkServer TD230 - 1027, 1029, 1039, 1040

1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.

2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file.

Steps to update VPD info:

1. Download the package. Then, extract the package into a root of USB device.

2. Boot system and press F6 to get to boot menu

3. Boot to EFI shell

4. Let it run and user will be prompted if want to enter MTM info

• 4a - If 'y' is pressed, then will be prompted to enter in the part number.

• 4b - Once number is entered, confirmation asked to verify correct entry

5. Once validated, user will be prompted if want to enter serial number info

• 5a - If 'y' is pressed, then will be prompted to enter in the part number.

• 5b - Once number is entered, confirmation asked to verify correct entry

6. Update BIOS 
   

7. Reboot upon completion for changes to take affect
