This BIOS VPD update package enables you to update the server BIOS VPD (Serial Number and Machine Type and Mode) and BIOS.

• ThinkServer RD240 - 1045, 1046, 1047, 1048

1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.

2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file.

To update the server BIOS VPD and BIOS using this BIOS VPD update package, do the following:

Attention: Do not turn off your server when updating the BIOS, otherwise the BIOS will fail to be updated and the system will fail to restart.

1. Download the package. Then, extract the package into a DOS bootable USB device.

2. Insert the bootable USB device into the USB port of the server to be updated. power on the server and press F11 to select the USB device as the boot device to enter DOS.

3. Run ARTVPD27.BAT to update BIOS VPD and BIOS follow premption . Wait for the system to run the command until update completes.

4. Reset server after update completes.
