This package installs the software (ThinkPad Monitor INF File) which defines the following items for ThinkPad LCD:
Monitor INF (Information file for the maximum resolution and monitor naming)
Windows ICM (Image Color Management file for ICC Color Profile). You can obtain an accurate color representation with the Windows ICM file.
Notes:
If you use the preload environment, you do not need this package. This package is required when you install Windows OS without the preload image.

Installation Instructions
Note:
If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Determining Which Version is installed section.
Make sure that the correct display driver is installed prior to installing this software.
Manual Install
This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.
[Downloading file]
Click once on the underlined file name. Once this is done, some pop-up windows will appear.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
In the window to choose Run or Save, click the Save button.
Choose the folder you would like to download the file to and click the Save button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully.
[Extracting file]
Make sure to be logged on with administrative account.
Locate the directory where the file was downloaded.
Locate the file that was downloaded and double-click it.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
In the "Select Destination Location" window, click Next. If you would like to select a different folder, click Browse.
In the "Ready to Install" window, click Install. All the necessary files will be extracted to the folder selected in the step 9.
Click Finish to complete extraction. The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MONITOR.
[Installing files: Windows 7]
Right-click on the desktop then select Screen resolution.
Click Advanced Settings.
Select the Monitor tab.
Click Properties.
Select the Driver tab then click Update Driver.
Select Browse my computer for driver software.
Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
Click Have Disk.
Specify path to this monitor INF then click Open. Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MONITOR
Click OK.
Confirm the correct display type, then click Next.
Windows has finished installing. Click Close.
Click Close for Display Propertries.
Click OK for the Monitor tab.
Click OK for the Display Settings.
[Installing files: Windows Vista]
Right-click on the desktop and select Personalize.
Select DisplaySettings.
Click AdvancedSettings.
Select the Monitor tab.
Click Properties.
Click Continue.
Select the Driver tab, then click Update Driver.
Select Browse my computer for driver software.
Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
Click Have Disk.
Specify the path to the monitor INF file, then click Open. Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MONITOR
Click OK.
Confirm the correct display type, then click Next.
Windows has finished installing. Click Close.
Click Close for Display Properties.
Click OK in the Monitor tab.
Click OK in the Display Settings.
[Installing files: Windows XP]
Right-click the desktop and select Properties from the pop up menu.
Select the Settings tab.
Click the Advanced button.
Select the Monitor tab.
Select Plug and Play Monitor from monitor type list.
Click the Properties button.
Select the Driver tab and click the Update Driver.
"Hardware Update wizard" starts. Select No, not this time for Windows Update connection and click the Next.
Select Installfrom a list or specific location (Advanced) and click the Next button.
Select Don't search, I will chose the driver to install and click the Next button.
Click the HaveDisk button.
Click the Browse button then specify location directory and select TPLCD.INF file. Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MONITOR
Click OK.
System will show ThinkPad Display. Click Next. System will copy ThinkPad Monitor INF file and color profile.
Click Finish, then click Close.
Click the Color Management tab.
Click the Add button.
Select color profile (*.ICM) and click the Add.
Click the OK button.
Close the Display Properties.
[Installing files: Windows 2000]
Right-click the desktop and select Properties from the pop up menu
Select the Settings tab.
Click the Advanced button.
Select the Monitor tab.
Select Plug and Play Monitor from monitor type list.
Click the Properties button.
Select the Driver tab and click the UpdateDriver button, then "Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" starts.
Click the Next button.
Select Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver and click the Next button.
Click the HaveDisk button.
Click the Browse button then specify location directory and select TPLCD.INF file. Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MONITOR.
Click OK.
Select ThinkPad Display that you use from the models list and click Next.
Click Next. System will copy monitor INF file and color profile.
Click Finish, then click Close.
Click the Color Management tab.
Click the Add button.
Select color profile (*.ICM) and click the Add button..
Click the OK button.
Close the Display Properties.
Silent Install
Note: This is for system administrators' use only.

Create or Add the following lines under the [Unattended] section in an Unattend.txt.
OemPnPDriversPath="folder for ICC Color Profile" For example, OemPnPDriversPath="DRIVERS\OTHER"
