Version information
Launch the Client Security Solution program. After being authenticated, the main screen will be displayed.
Click Help in the menu bar, and then click About. The version number will be displayed.
Installation instructions
Note:
If the Client Security Solution 8.3 program works properly with the Mozilla Firefox 5 Web browser on your computer, it might not be necessary to apply the patch.
To determine whether you should apply the patch, refer to the VERSION INFORMATION section.
Manual installation
Note: This section assumes to use the Internet Explorer Web browser and Windows Explorer.
Click the file link for the executable on the Web page.
When prompted, select a drive and directory to save and extract the executable.
Locate the folder where the executable was extracted.
Double-click the executable and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation. Note: During the installation process, make sure to select the checkbox next to Run FireFoxFix after Finish, and then click Finish.
Restart your computer.
Unattended installation
Note: The unattended installation can only be performed by system administrators.
Click the file link for the executable on the Web page.
When prompted, select a drive and directory to save and extract the executable.
Locate the folder where the executable was extracted.
Double-click the executable and follow the instructions on the screen.
Make sure not to select the checkbox next to Run FireFoxFix after Finish, and then click Finish to cancel the installation process.
At the command line, execute the FirefoxFix.exe file with the following option: /s For example: [Path where the files were extracted]\FirefoxFix /s
Limitations
The patch may not work normally after downloading and installing this patch from the ThinkVantage System Update program if you do the following:
Install this patch with the Client Security Solution program.
