How to check if BIOS recognizes ODD and HDD correctly

AFFECTED CONFIGURATIONS: The above sympton may occur on the systems: All Idea Laptops All Idea Desktops VALID REGIONS/COUNTRIES: Worldwide SOLUTION: Phoenix BIOS 1. Press "F2" Key when seeing the following LOGO interface shown as Fig.1. (Fig.1 is for reference only and the boot LOGO picture may vary from different machines) Fig.1 2. After enter BIOS interface, if the "HDD Status" and "ODD Status" show as Fig.2, it means BIOS recognizes CD-ROM and HDD correctly. Fig.2 Insyde BIOS 1. Press "F2" Key when seeing the following boot LOGO interface shown as Fig.1. (Fig.1 is for reference only and the boot LOGO picture may vary from different machines) Fig.3 2. After entering BIOS interface, select "Boot" with right or left arrow key. If the "HDD Status" and "ODD Status" show as Fig.2, it means BIOS recognizes CD-ROM and HDD correctly. Fig.4 AMI BIOS 1. Press "F2" Key when seeing the following boot LOGO interface shown as Fig.1. (Fig.1 is for reference only and the boot LOGO picture may vary from different machines) Fig.5 2. After entering BIOS interface, select "Advanced" with right or left arrow key. Select "IDE Configuration" with up or down arrow key and then press "Enter" key. Fig.6 3. Select "Primary IDE Master" with up or down key and then press "Enter". Fig.7 4. If the HDD information shows as Fig.2, it means BIOS recognizes HDD correctly. Fig.8 5. Press "ESC" to back to last interface, select "Third IDE Master" with up or down key and then press "Enter". Fig.9 6. If the ODD information shows as Fig.2, it means BIOS recognizes ODD correctly.
