STATEMENT DESCRIPTION:
Can the Graphic card be set to Discrete Graphic mode on Nvidia Optimus based Lenovo consumer laptops?
AFFECTED CONFIGURATIONS:
The above symptom may occur on the following systems:
All Idea Laptops with Nvidia Optimus technology
VALID REGIONS/COUNTRIES:
Worldwide
SOLUTION:
Usually, Lenovo laptops with Nvidia Optimus technology have relevant Graphics setting options in BIOS. Taking ThinkPad for example, go to "BIOS -> Configuration -> Display ->Graphics Device", you will find the following three options:
-Integrated Graphic
-Discrete Graphic
-Nvidia Optimus
However, Lenovo Consumer Laptops have different BIOS from that of ThinkPad. Taking Lenovo B560 for example, go to "BIOS -> Configuration -> Graphics Device", you will only find the following two options:
- IGD
- Optimus

Therefore, in Lenovo consumer laptops with Nvidia Optimus technology, the Graphic card cannot be set to Discrete Graphic mode.
