The Energy Management icon can be seen on the Notification Area, and the power scheme can be normally changed as well, but no interface displayed when hotkeys pressed (e.g. screen brightness hotkeys). Some hotkeys are even not working properly (e.g. wireless hotkeys). How to solve this problem?
Energy Management icon is shown in Fig.1.
The above symptom may occur on the following systems:
Lenovo 3000 G230/G430/G530
The above symptom occurs likely because the System Startup "Utility" in the "System Configuration Utility" window is disabled by optimization software (for Windows Vista, the Startup Item is "Lenovo battery management software"). To enable it, go to "Start" à "Run" à type msconfig à select the "Utility" check box à log off and restart the computer.

System Startup in Windows Vista:
However, the following interfaces can also be brought out by pressing corresponding hotkeys even without enabling "Utility" ("Lenovo battery management software" in Windows Vista).
Lenovo Wireless Device Setting:
Screen Brightness ：
Open "Self-defined program setting" from "Start" à "All Programs" à "Lenovo" à "Energy Management". After opening "Self-defined program setting", all hotkeys will work properly and corresponding interfaces will be displayed as well.
"Self-defined program setting" on the Start menu:
Analysis: Hotkeys are supported by Energy Management which contains energy management process and utility process. The former is mainly responsible for power scheme adjustment, while the latter for hotkeys support. The system will automatically enable utility process when opening the " Self-defined program setting". Thus, all hotkeys can work properly.
Navigate to C:\\ProgramFiles\\Lenovo\\EnergyManagement, and double click utility icon. (Also double click utility icon in Windows Vista).
Utility icon in drive C:
Analysis: After double clicking utility, the utility process is enabled.
Hotkeys can work properly through the two methods mentioned above. However, you will need to enable the utility process again after restarted the computer. Therefore, enabling Startup utility in the "System Configuration Utility" window is recommended.
