Symptom
If you are unable to enter the Rescue and Recovery environment using the local hard drive or USB hard drive, use a bootable Rescue and Recovery CD. Booting from this CD is slow and it may appear there is no activity.

Affected configurations
IBM systems supported by IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore, running Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 or higher or Microsoft Windows XP.

Solution
None. Booting or starting some operations may take several minutes. If the hard drive light or the CD light is blinking, then the process is active.
