Windows XP Crash: System may hang or restart with previous version of Intel Video Driver - ThinkPad R61, R61e, R61i, T61, X61, X61s, X61 Tablet
Symptom

The user may see any of the following symptom:

  • System Hang with an Error Message
  • Blue Screen, Windows may stop responding with an error message
  • The system may auto restart just after an error message

 

Affected configuration

The following ThinkPad systems running on Microsoft Windows XP (Home, Professional or XP Tablet PC Edition 2005) and Windows 2000 may be affected by this symptom:

  • R61 (Machine Types: 7732, 7733, 7734, 7735, 7736, 7737, 7738, 8930, 8932, 8933, 8934, 8935, 8936, 8937, 8942, 8943, 8944, 8945, 8947, 8948, 8949)
  • R61e
  • R61i (Machine Types: 7650, 7732, 8932, 8943)
  • T61
  • X61, X61s, X61 Tablet

 

Solution

Update the Intel Display Driver to the latest version in the web.
