After reloading the system with the Recovery CD with Microsoft Windows XP Home (Field Replacement number (FRU) 13R9693) or Professional ( FRU 13R9714), the operating system will prompt the client for drivers for the new hardware found. The operating system will identify one of these as the SMBUS Controller and the other as the VGA Controller.

Any of the following systems preloaded with Windows XP Home or Windows XP Professional, configured with the on-board Intel 865 video controller:

• ThinkCentre A50 (type 8419, 8320)
• ThinkCentre A50p (type 8192, 8193, 8194, 8195, 8196, 8197, 8432, 8433)
• ThinkCentre M50 (type 8185, 8186, 8187, 8188, 8189, 8190, 8413)
• ThinkCentre S50 (type 8183, 8184, 8416, 8417, 8418)

When the operating system prompts for the SMBUS controller, follow these steps using the Hardware Update Wizard:

1. Select Install from a list or specific location, then click Next.
2. Select Include this location in the search and enter C:\TOOLS\DRIVERS\CHIPSET\INTEL\XP in the input field
3. Click Ok, then Click Next

When the operating system prompts for the VGA controller, follow these steps using the Hardware Update Wizard:

1. Select Install from a list or specific location, then click Next.
2. Select Include this location in the search and enter C:\TOOLS\DRIVERS\VIDEO\INTEL\WXPW2K\WIN2000 in the input field
3. Click Ok, then Click Next
