Symptom
If the "IBM Rescue and Recovery" CD is removed while in the IBM Rescue and Recovery environment, the system will generate a Visual C++ error message.

IBM systems supported by IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore, running Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows XP, configured with IBM Rapid Restore.

Solution
The "IBM Rescue and Recovery" is a limited use operating system with certain features purposefully disabled. The function that would allow continous access after the removal of the boot media has been disabled for resource issues.
