ImageUltra Builder boot CD does not recognize hard drive in Windows XP, 2000 - ThinkPad R61, T61, T61p, X61, X61s
Symptom
When attempting to perform an ImageUltra Builder deploy to a ThinkPad R61, T61, T61p, X61, X61s, you may see an error stating "Found SP() at None" or "There was a problem during the ImageUltra process. Please check the log files for more information" during the deploy disc's first boot.
Because the ThinkPad R61, T61, T61p, X61, X61s systems use Intel's ICH8-M chipset, an updated driver is required for S-ATA controllers to function in AHCI mode. This support is not included on ImageUltra Builder's deploy disc by default. While it is possible to use the documented process for updating drivers to overwrite the existing INF, SYS and TXTSETUP.OEM files, doing so will break the deploy disc's backward compatibility with earlier S-ATA controllers in AHCI mode (ThinkPad R60, T60, X60, Z60).
Affected configurations
All versions of ImageUltra Builder 3.0 and 3.1 on the following ThinkPad systems running Windows XP, 2000 with may be affected by this symptom:
ThinkPad R61
ThinkPad T61, T61p
ThinkPad X61, X61s
Solution
Download txr61ahci.zip and extract to your repository root. Create a new deploy CD.
Additional information
This archive contains updates to the following files on ImageUltra Builder's deploy disc: \I386\SYSTEM32\WINPEOEM.SIF \I386\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\IASTOR.SYS
Additionally, it will add the following folder, as defined in WINPEOEM.SIF: \I386\SYSTEM32\IASTOR2
This folder contains the driver files necessary for ICH8-M support.
