IBM Rescue and Recovery™ with Rapid Restore™ - Computer continues to boot to the IBM Rescue and Recovery Environment

When the user reboots the computer, it boots to the IBM Rescue and Recovery Environment. This may be caused if the computer has more than one hard disk drive, and the computer was restored by booting to CD/DVD and restoring from a CD/DVD backup.

Affected configuration
IBM systems supported by IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore, running Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP, configured with IBM Rapid Restore Ultra

  1. Turn off the computer.
  2. Turn on the computer and press the Rescue and Recovery key (F11, AccessIBM, or Enter key, depending on the computer).
  3. The computer will boot to the Rescue and Recovery Environment.
  4. Click the Restart button and let the computer restart. The computer will boot to Windows.
  5. Delete TVTTEMP.INI from the primary partition on the root of the second hard drive.
