Primary display is disabled when changing settings on secondary display using ATI Catalyst Control Center in Windows Vista - ThinkPad R60, R60e, T60, T60p, Z60m, Z60t, Z61e, Z61m, Z61p, Z61t

Symptom

In the ATI Catalyst Control Center, you can change the settings for displays attached to your system:

Scale image - maintain aspect ratio
Scale image - full panel size
Use centered timing

With an external display attached and configured in clone mode, if you change one of these settings on the secondary display, then the primary display will be disabled.

Affected configuration

The following systems with ATI Graphics running Microsoft Windows Vista may be affected by this symptom:

ThinkPad R60, R60e
ThinkPad T60, T60p
ThinkPad Z60m, Z60t
ThinkPad Z61e, Z61m, Z61p, Z61t

Solution

Lenovo has resolved this issue with an updated video display driver. Please update your system to version 8.33.6-070105a1-041058C-Lenovo or newer to resolve this issue.
