Display adapters do not show correct details for Graphics Memory in Performance Information and Tools - ThinkPad

Symptom

Under Performance Information and Tools, the base score and the subscore for both Graphics and Gaming Graphics are only 1.0. When viewing the details for Graphics, the total available graphics memory displays "Not detected" while the other memory details all display 0 MB instead of the actual Display Adapter RAM.

Affected configurations

Any of the following systems that do not support WDDM graphics:

ThinkPad X31, X32, X40, X41, X41 Tablet
ThinkPad R50, R50e, R51, R52 (with Machine Type: 1858, 1859, 1860, 1861, 1862, 1863, 1958)
ThinkPad T41, T42 (with ATI MOBILITY RADEON 7500 and MOBILITY RADEON 9000 graphics only), T43 (with Intel graphics only, or with Machine Type: 1871, 1872, 1873, 1874, 1875, 1876)
ThinkPad Z60t, Z60m (with Intel graphics only)

There is no solution.
