Abnormal video screen in BIOS Setup when connection with Intel AMT SOL - ThinkCentre M90, M90p, ThinkStation E20
Symptom
When using Intel AMT function Serial over Lan (SOL) to boot to BIOS Setup with ISV SOL Console, the screen may shows abnormal video as shown below:
Affected configurations
Any of the following systems but not limited to the following systems:
ThinkCentre M90 (all models)
ThinkCentre M90p (all models)
ThinkStation E20 (all models)
Note: The system BIOS is currently 5JKT35A or less.
Additional Information:
This issue is caused by the resolution of the BIOS Setup change. The previous product BIOS Setup resolution was 640x480, while most of the ISV SOL consoles are also set to 640x480. The above listed systems BIOS Setup was changed to 800x600, while most ISV SOL console resolution is fixed at 640x480.
Solution
None. Do not replace any hardware for this issue.
Limitation
Update the system BIOS to current version. This will partially correct this issue while some "Help Messages" may continue to show abnormal video.
