Installation Instructions
Notes:
If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.
Before update, uninstallation of current driver is recommeded. Refer to the Uninstallation Instructions section.
If you are currently using driver version 7VD614WW (8.641.1.1-090824a-089811C-Lenovo) or older and need to update to the latest driver version, we recommend to uninstall current graphics driver first from Programs and Features before installing the latest driver.
Manual Install
This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Explorer.
[Downloading file]
Click once on the underlined file name. Once this is done, some pop-up windows will appear.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
In the window to choose Run or Save, click the Save button.
Choose the folder you would like to download the file to and click the Save button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully.
[Extracting file]
Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
Locate the directory where the file was downloaded.
Locate the file that was downloaded and double-click it.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
In the "Select Destination Location" window, click Next. If you would like to select a different folder, click Browse.
In the "Ready to Install" window, click Install. All the necessary files will be extracted to the folder selected in the step 9.
[Install files]
Make sure the checkbox next to "Install ..... now" is checked and click Finish.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
At the "Select Installation Option" screen, click Install.
At the "Installer Welcome" screen, click Express.
Click Finish to complete installation and restart the computer.
Finally delete the file saved in Step 4.
Silent Install
Note: This is intended for system administrators only.
Refer to the "Manual Install" section, and download and extract the file.
In the step 11 of the "Installing files" section, uncheck the checkbox next to "Install ..... now", and then click Finish to cancel installation.
At the command line, execute setup.exe with the -install option. Example: [Path where the files were extracted]\setup -install
Uninstallation Instructions
Manual Uninstall
Start Windows and logon with administrative privileges.
Click Start, then click Control Panel.
Make sure View by Category is selected, and click Uninstall a program.
Select ATI Catalyst Install Manager and double-click it.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
Click Next to open the "Catalyst Install Manager" window.
In the "Catalyst Install Manager" window, select Express Uninstall All ATI Software.
Click Next to continue and finish the uninstallation.
Click Remove button to remove ATI Catalyst Install Manager.
Click Finish to restart Windows.
Silent Uninstall
Note: This is for system administrators' use only.
Refer to the "Manual Install" section, and download and extract the file.
In the step 11 of the "Installing files" section, uncheck the checkbox next to "Install ..... now", and then click Finish to cancel installation.

Switching Between High Performance and Energy Saving Modes
Note: It is recommended to close any graphics settings utility such as ATI Catalyst Control Center or Intel Customer User Interface before switching between different performance modes.
In the Task Bar, left click the battery guage. A pop-up window will open.
In the pop-up window, mouse over 'Switchable Graphics'.
Select High Performance or Energy Saving depending on what mode you prefer. A 'Power Manager' window will open. Click Yes to proceed.
To check the version of software, perform the following steps.
Right-click anywhere on an open area of the Windows desktop, and select ATI Catalyst™ Control Center.
If the ATI Catalyst Control Center is opened for the first time, a window will open asking to choose between "Basic" or "Advanced". Select Advanced and click Next.
Catalyst Control Center Notification window will open. Click Yes.
Catalyst Control Center Advanced window will open. In the "Graphics" menu, select Information Center then select Graphics Software.
In the Graphics Software pane, the version is displayed. Driver Packaging Version is displayed. Check if the correct version is installed.
