Lenovo USB WebCam - Trojan virus reported when installing the USB WebCam driver, version number 12.0.0.58849
Symptom
When installing the driver (driverlenovousbwebcam.exe) for the Lenovo USB WebCam, the anti-virus software may display an alert that there is a virus. Then the driver installation will fail.
Affected configuration
Any system configured with a Lenovo USB WebCam, part number 40Y8519 or service part number FRU 40Y8177.
Solution
Disable the firewall or anti-virus software before installing the driver.
Additional information
This driver has been tested and is virus free. The design of the driver install program is the cause for the false alert.
