Open Windows Explorer and browse to the directory where the downloaded file in step 5 is.
Right-click on cbafupdate3.zip file, click Extract All, and follow instructions on the screen.
Open Command Prompt. Change the directory to cbafupdate3.
Type the entire line below: C:\...\cbafupdate3>cbafupdate.bat Press the Enter key.
The following screen will appear and the association should be completed successfully. If the association is not successful, remove and re-attach the USB cable.
To confirm that the association is successfully completed, open Wireless USB Connection Manager from system tray or from the launcher on the desktop. You will notice that a Wireless USB item appears under Wireless USB connections.
After successful association, remove the USB cable from the system. After a while, wireless connection between the host and the hub will be established.
Open Wireless USB Connection Manager from system tray or from the launcher on the desktop to view the status of the hub connected.
How to connect a Wireless USB Hub: Manual Setting
Use the following instructions to connect your computer with a Wireless USB Hub manually.
Start Windows and logon with administrative privileges.
Download the latest Wireless USB software for the ThinkPad computers listed in the Affected Configurations section from Lenovo web site and install the software in your computer.
Download the latest software from the Wireless USB hub vendor's web site and install the full package.
Attach the Wireless USB Hub to the computer using a USB cable.
Open the Device Manager, follow the steps according to your Operating System.

For Windows XP
Click Start, then click Control Panel.
Click System and Maintenance.
From the left pane, click Device Manager.
Click Start, then right-click My Computer.
Click the Hardware tab.
Click Device Manager.
Double-click the Universal Serial Bus controllers category.
Right-click on XXXXXX (a Wireless USB hub vendor's name) Cable Association Interface, and click Update driver Software.
Select Browse my computer for driver software.
Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
Select Intel(R) UWB Cable Based Association Framework Driver, and click Next.
If Intel(R) UWB Cable Based Association Framework Driver is not listed, click on Have Disk. Browse to C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Wireless UWB Link 1480\cbaf. Once Intel(R) UWB Cable Based Association Framework Driver appears on the list, select it and click Next.
In case you see a Update Driver Warning pop-up, proceed with the installation of the drivers by clicking on Yes.
Check if the XXXXXX (Wireless USB Hub maker's name) Cable Association Interface is replaced with Intel(R) UWB Cable Based Association Framework Driver on the Device Manager.
Close the Device Manager.
Upon successful update of Cable Based Association driver software, hub association will proceed.
After successful association, remove the USB cable from the computer to establish host-to-hub connection.
Open Wireless USB Connection Manager in the system tray or launcher on the desktop to view the status of the hub connected.
