ThinkVantage Toolbox does not start on first boot for Windows Vista - ThinkPad

Starting the Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox on first boot immediately after completing Lenovo Welcome by clicking on the ThinkVantage Toolbox toolbar icon, the program does not start and no messages are displayed.

Affected configurations

Any ThinkPad preloaded with Windows Vista and Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox version 6.0.5514.xx.

Solution

This only happens on first boot and is resolved by restarting the system.
