Notes
The TrackPoint driver does not need to be installed on the UltraNav models.
Multi-touch gestures are supported only with the multi-touch touch pad.
This package discontinued support for Windows 2000 in version 11.1.21.2 For Windows 2000, use the version 11.1.21.2 (Build ID: 7iGU07WW) of this package.
If the driver detects that either TrackPoint or keyboard is in use, it will suppress the touchPad pointing and gestures. After keyboard or TrackPoint use is complete, the touchPad will remain suppressed for a short period of time (less than one second). Optionally the suppression will be extended until all fingers break contact with the TouchPad. This feature has been supported from version 15.2.19.0 (Build ID:6HGX37WW).
To cancel this feature,
Click Start, then click Control Panel.
Make sure View by Category is selected, and click Hardware and Sound.
Click Mouse, then select UltraNav tab.
Click Settings of TouchPad.
Click Smart Check Settings, then click PalmCheck.
Set the slider to Minimum, then press OK. Or uncheck Prioritize for TrackPoint and keyboard input.
Installation instructions
Note:
If this package has been installed, updating (overwrite-installing) this package will fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted below.
If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Determining Which Version is Installed section.
Before update, uninstallation of current driver is recommended. Refer to the Uninstallation Instructions section.
Manual Install
This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.
[Downloading file]
Click once on the underlined file name. Once this is done, some pop-up windows will appear.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
In the window to choose Run or Save, click the Save.
Choose the folder you would like to download the file to and click the Save. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully.
[Extracting file]
Make sure to be logged on with an administrator account.
Locate the folder where the file was downloaded.
Locate the file that was downloaded and double-click it.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
In the "Select Destination Location" window, click Next. If you would like to select a different folder, click Browse.
In the "Ready to Install" window, click Install. All the necessary files will be extracted to the folder selected in the step 9.
[Installing files]
Make sure the checkbox next to "Install ..... now" is checked and click Finish.
Follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation and restart the computer.
Finally delete the file saved in Step 4.
Silent Install
Note: This is for system administrators' use only.
Refer to the "Manual Install" section, and download and extract the file.
In the step 11 of the "Installing files" section, uncheck the checkbox next to "Install ..... now", and then click Finish to cancel installation.
At the command line, execute setup.exe with the -s -sms options. . Example: [Path where the files were extracted]\setup -s -sms
