This package provides the audio driver for Microsoft Windows XP SP2, Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4. This package enables or updates the audio function of the following systems:
When using pause in MediaPlayer after suspend/resume, noise may be heard.
Installing the driver
Start Windows and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator for Microsoft Windows 2000/XP.
Extract this package onto the hard drive.
Click Start, then click Run.
Type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AUDIO\SETUP.EXE in the Open box and click OK. Note: For unattended install, type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AUDIO\SETUP.EXE -S -SMS in the Open box and click OK.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
Click Finish and Reboot the system when prompted in order to complete the installation.
Uninstallation instructions
Start Windows 2000/XP and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator.
Depending on the operating system choose one of the following paths:
If Windows 2000, Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
If Windows XP, Click Start, then click Control Panel.
Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
Click SoundMAX, then click Change/Remove (or Add/Remove).
Select Remove or OK, then click Next or OK.
Click Finish or OK and reboot the system to fully uninstall the drivers.
Determining which version is installed
Windows 2000
Start Windows.
Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click System.
Click the Hardware tab at the top of the System Properties window for Windows 2000.
Click Device Manager.
Expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
Select SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio.
Right-click SoundMax Integrated Digital HD Audio, and select Properties.
Click the Driver tab.
Click Driver Details.
Select C:\winnt\system32\drivers\ADIHDAud.sys, to display the version number, where C:\winnt is the location the OS is installed. (Confirm the last 4 digits are 4326)
Windows XP
Start Windows XP.
Click Start and then click Control Panel.
Click Performance and Maintenance.
Click System.
Click the Hardware tab.
Click Device Manager.
Expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
Select SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio.
Right-click SoundMax Integrated Digital HD Audio, and select Properties.
Click the Driver tab.
Click Driver Details.
Select C:\winnt\system32\drivers\ADIHDAud.sys, to display the version number, where C:\winnt is the location the OS is installed. (Confirm the last 4 digits are 4326)
