It is necessary to install the RICOH Memory Stick Bus Host Adapter driver also.
Windows 2000
Note: Before installing the driver, this device appears as "PCI Device" in Device Manager.
Extract this package onto your hard drive.
Start Windows 2000 and logon with administrative privileges.
Click Start, select Settings, click ControlPanel
Double-click System.
Click the Hardware tab, then click DeviceManager.
Double-click PCIDevice listed under Other devices.
Click the Driver tab, then click UpdateDriver.
Click Next.
Select Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended), and click Next.
Select Specify a location and click Next.
Click Browse.
Specify the folder you extracted this package to in step 1. The default path is C:\DRIVERS\3IN1. Then click 0pen.
Click OK.
Click Next.
Click Finish when the install is completed.
Click Yes when prompt to restart the computer.
Windows XP
Notes:
In the case of SP1: Before installing the driver, this device appears as "PCI Device" in Device Manager.
In the case of SP2: This device is recognized as "SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller", when the Windows native driver is installed.
Extract this package onto your hard drive.
Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
Click Start, then click ControlPanel.
In case of Category View: Click Performance and Maintenance, then click System. In the case of Classic View: Double-click System.
Click the Hardware tab, then click DeviceManager.
Double-click PCI Device listed under Other devices. Note: If two PCI Devices appear in the list, choose the one with the same PCI Bus number as one of the following:
When "RICOH Memory Stick Bus Host Adapter Driver" has not been installed: "Base System Device" listed under "Other devices"
When "RICOH Memory Stick Bus Host Adapter Driver" has been installed: "Ricoh Memory Stick Bus Host Adapter" listed under "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" The PCI Bus number can be checked using the following instructions:
Right click the PCI Device
Select the General tab.
Click the driver tab, then click UpdateDriver.
In the case of SP2: Select No, not this time.
Click Next.
Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) and click Next.
Select Search for the best driver in these locations.
Select Include this location in the search: and click Browse.
Specify the folder you extracted this package to in step 1. The default path is C:\DRIVERS\3IN1. Then click Open.
Click Next.
Click Finish when the install was completed.

Determining which version is installed
Start Windows 2000/XP.
Click Start, then click ControlPanel.
In the case of Category View: Click PerformanceandMaintenance, then click System. In the case of Classic View: Double-click System.
Click the Hardware tab, then click DeviceManager.
Double-click Ricoh SD Bus Host Adapter listed under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
Click the Driver tab; the driver version is listed on this screen.
