This package provides the ATI SMBus controller driver for Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft XP users.

II. Installation instructions
Note: This driver can be installed with the ThinkPad Software Installer, or by following the instructions below.
Clean install
Start Windows 2000/XP and logon with administrative privileges.
Extract this package onto hard disk drive.
Click Start, then click Run.
In the Run dialog window, type C:\DRIVERS\ASMB\SETUP.EXE to install this driver. Click OK to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
Click Finish, then reboot the system.
Unattended install for Windows 2000/XP
Note: This is for system administrators' use only.
Start Windows 2000/XP and logon with administrative privileges.
Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
Click Start and then click Run.
Type C:\DRIVERS\ASMB\SETUP -S in the Open box and click OK. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead.
Uninstall
Start Windows 2000/XP.
Windows 2000: Click Start, Settings then ControlPanel. Double-click the System icon. Windows XP: Click Start then click ControlPanel. Click PerformanceandMaintenance and then click the System icon. Note: If the Classic View option has been selected, double-click the System icon.
Click the Hardware tab.
Click the DeviceManager button.
Double-click System devices.
Double-click ATISMBus
Click the Driver tab. The Driver Version will be displayed.
III. Determining which version is installed
Start Windows 2000/XP.
Windows 2000: Click Start, click Settings then click Control Panel. Double-click the System icon. Windows XP: Click Start, then click Control Panel. Click PerformanceandMaintenance, then click the System icon. Note: If the Classic View option has been selected, double-click the System icon.
Select the Hardware tab.
Click the DeviceManager button.
Double-click System devices.
Double-click ATI SMBus.
Click the Driver tab. The Driver Version will be displayed.
