This DVD Video Player Upgrade package updates the DVD Video Player feature in the ThinkPad system.

This release supports the following systems:
- ThinkPad 570, 600E, A21e (Supports Windows 95/98/Me/2000 only)
- ThinkPad 570E
- ThinkPad 600X
- ThinkPad A20m, A20p, A21m, A21p, A22e, A22m, A22p
- ThinkPad A30, A30p
- ThinkPad T20, T21, T22, T23
- ThinkPad X20, X21, X22, X23, X24
- ThinkPad i Series 1157 (Supports Windows 98/2000 only)

Note: This package is for upgrade purposes only. Not all ThinkPad systems shipped with the DVD player software. If shipped with your system, the full version of this software can be found in the C:\ibmtools\apps directory. This only applies if you are using the preloaded software image as shipped from IBM.

II. Installation instructions
Notes:
  • Windows 95 version must be OSR2 or later.
  • Before installing, make sure that you have installed the following software:
    • Video Features for Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP
    • Audio Features for Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP
    • IDE Driver for Windows NT4.0
      Note: To download the latest version of these drivers, visit the Device Driver File Matrix page.
    • Mediamatics DVD-Video Player for Windows 95/98

  • This package cannot be installed without the Mediamatics DVDExpress DVD-Video player installed on the system. This package is for upgrade purposes only. Not all ThinkPad systems are shipped with the DVD player software. If shipped with your system, the full version of this software can be found in the C:\ibmtools\apps directory. This only applies if you are using the preloaded software image as shipped with your ThinkPad system.
  1. Start Microsoft Windows.
    Note: Windows 2000 users must be logged in with administrative rights before running the upgrade installation. Then execute the Mediamatics DVD player once logged in with administrative rights. After this you can access the Mediamatics DVD player with power user rights for DVD playback.
  2. Extract the package to your hard disk drive.
  3. Click Start and then click Run.
  4. In the Run dialog window, type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\DVD\SETUP.EXE to install the upgrade DVD player. Click OK to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen

Determining which version is installed
  1. Click Start, select Programs, select Mediamatics DVDExpress, and then click Mediamatics DVD Player.
  2. When the DVD Panel player is launched, click the Options button. The Options button has an Envelope icon on it and is on the left side of the player. By default, the About tab is displayed, the program version is displayed on the line that says build version.
