Cannot capture picture in DVD Movie Factory - ThinkCentre
Symptom

When the user tries to capture a picture from the internal camera of an All-In-One system from the DVD Movie Factory, the file cannot be saved.

Affected configurations

The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

  • ThinkCentre M90z, M71z, M92z, M72z, Edge 71z

Applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows 7

The system is configured with:

DVD Movie Factory software

Solution

The process to save a file in DVD Movie Factory captures incorrectly parsing the path in some cases.  The file is saved to an invalid path, therefore, saving the file fails.  This behavior will be corrected in a future version of the DVD Movie Factory.

Workaround

The following two workarounds apply:

  1. Save to an external storage, such as a SD card or a USB disk.
  2. Save the video and extract a still frame from it.  Follow the steps below:
    a) Capture and save a short video clip.
    b) Enter the DVD Movie Factory and import the saved video to the video layout.
    c) Navigate in the Preview frame to the image the user wants to save.
    d) Right click the Preview frame and select the saved image.
    e) Choose the appropriate folder, enter a filename, and save the picture.
