Rescue and Recovery will install but not all functions work
Rescue and Recovery will install, but not all functions may work. These functions include booting to the Pre-Desktop environment, making Recovery CDs, and making USB drive bootable.
If the user name has certain Double Byte Character Set (DBCS) characters in it, then the installation of Rescue and Recovery may look like everything installed correctly. However, it is possible that some of the files needed did not unzip correctly and so all the files did not actually install and some features will not work.
Any system running Rescue and Recovery version 2.04.0182
A workaround is to install Rescue and Recovery in this order:
Create the folder c:\temp.
Copy the Rescue and Recovery installation package to c:\temp.
Click Start, click Run, type cmd, then click OK.
In the command prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each line:
set TEMP=c:\temp set TMP=c:\temp cd c:\temp setup_ibmrr1182.exe
