Monitor connected to onboard DisplayPort connector through DisplayPort to VGA Monitor Cable may not have video when resuming from standby mode (S3)
Symptom

When the customer uses dual display by connecting one monitor to the onboard DisplayPort output through the to Lenovo DisplayPort to VGA Monitor Cable (Option P/N: 57Y4393, FRU P/N: 57Y4141 or 45J9524, Manufacturing P/N: 57Y4140) and connecting another monitor to the onboard VGA output, the DisplayPort output may not have video after waking from standby mode (S3).

Affected Systems

The above symptom may occur on the following systems, but not limited to the following:

  • All ThinkCentre M58
  • All ThinkCentre M58p

Applies to following operating systems:

  • Microsoft Windows Vista
  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional
  • Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Fix

When the onboard DisplayPort output has no video, press Ctrl+Alt+F12 to enter the Intel display driver settings and enable dual display mode output to both monitors.
