For systems with the Ericsson WAN express card, the LED will remain lit even after the WAN device driver is uninstalled. This is caused by a design of Ericsson WAN, because the driver removed controls the radio, the radio status will not be turned off.

ThinkPad systems running Windows 7 with Ericsson WWAN module may be affected by this symptom.

This is a limitation of the Device Driver. To turn off the LED, disable the Radio via FN-F5 prior to the uninstallation of the device driver.
