Symantec Client Security 3.0 installation is not interactive using setup.exe - ThinkPad General
Symptom

Symantec Client Security version 3.0's setup.exe installation is not interactive; the user cannot click the "Next" button and cannot customize the installation. This may occur after uninstalling Symantec Client Security version 3.0, and then reinstalling it from the source directory (c:\ibmtools\apps\scs\setup.exe).

Affected configurations

This symptom applies to any ThinkPad system running Symantec Client Security 3.0 under Microsoft Windows XP

Solution

Install Symantec Client Security version 3.0 from, "c:\ibmtools\apps\scs\Symantec Client Security.msi" for a user interactive installation.

Additional information

This is working as expected. Symantec Client Security version 3.0 is preloaded as a stand-alone "Client". Setup.exe is automated as a "Client" and does not allow the user to select "Server" mode installation.
