ThinkVision L2250p monitor may not wake or become unresponsive after going into Standby mode - ThinkCentre M58, M58p
Symptom

The ThinkVision L2250p monitor, when connected to a ThinkCentre M58/M58p via VGA or DisplayPort using a DisplayPort to DVI cable, may not wake up or
may lock up when running Microsoft Windows XP SP3 with Power Manager installed.  The user may need to remove the power from the display and plug it
back in and/or reboot the system to be able to view the video again.

Affected configurations

The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

  • ThinkCentre M58, M58p

Applies To:

  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Solution

None.  Do not replace any hardware for this issue.

Workaround

In Power Manager, the user should uncheck the Screen Lock and Screen Saver options under the Dynamic Brightness Control section, on the Global Power Settings tab,
as seen in the screen shot below.
