Before replacing hardware for a noisy fan complaint, you must ensure that the machine is using BIOS 1.16 and EC 1.07 or newer. In BIOS 1.16 we changed thermal setting to reduce an annoying fan noise. This fix will be included in newer BIOS/EC releases as well.
