The "Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard" disappears from the Start menu after Windows XP Service Pack 2 is installed - ThinkPad
Symptom
After installing Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2, the "Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard" disappears from the Accessories -> Communications menu.

Affected configuration
The following systems with the Integrated Bluetooth II or Bluetooth III driver installed:
  • ThinkPad R51
  • ThinkPad T42, T42p
  • ThinkPad X40

Solution
Use the Hardware Update Wizard to manually reinstall the Microsoft Bluetooth driver included in Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Additional information
To use Bluetooth with Windows XP Service Pack 1, Microsoft QFE Q323183 (Bluetooth Wireless Technology Driver) is required. Because the driver provider for the Integrated Bluetooth III driver is Actiontec, not Microsoft, the Microsoft Bluetooth driver included with Windows XP Service Pack 2 does not overwrite some of the Actiontec components. This causes "Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard" to disappear from the Accessories -> Communications menu.
