Symptom

After pausing DVD playback in Windows Media Center and entering into a sleep or hibernate state, then resume, there is no sound coming from the DVD.

Affected configurations

Any notebook system running Microsoft Windows Vista.

Solution

To recover from this problem, you must pause and restart playback, then you can recover audio sound of the DVD.

This is a limitation of Windows Vista.
