Distortion may appear on the ViewSonic VP150m DVI monitor in 640x480x60Hz - ThinkPad T42, T42p

Symptom

In Windows NT 4.0, when connected to a ViewSonic VP150m DVI monitor only, if the screen resolution is set to 640x480 at 60Hz refresh rate, distorted screen garbage may appear on the screen. Changing the color depth does not have any affect on this issue.

The following ThinkPad systems running Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 may experience this symptom:

ThinkPad T42, T42p

Solution

Use the ViewSonic DVI monitor's native resolution, 1024x768, where no issues occur.
